SLO language that product managers actually use
Release Observability Blueprint includes a workshop where participants draft SLOs with user-visible language. We avoid vanity metrics that sound impressive in slides but change nothing during freeze debates.
Participants pair with hypothetical PM personas to argue trade-offs: if budget burns during a migration, what scope gets deferred? The exercise is intentionally uncomfortable because real alignment is.
We also cover sampling and cost. An SLO backed by unaffordable telemetry is a paper shield.
Graduates leave with a one-page SLO brief we encourage them to attach to quarterly planning—not buried in a wiki forest.
